Walk-In Cooler at 45 Degrees at a Waco Restaurant 09.14.26
A Waco restaurant called in September 2026 with its walk-in cooler running at 45 degrees. Clay found the evaporator partially frozen and went to check the defrost timer, but could not find one wired to this unit. Without a defrost cycle, frost builds on the coil until airflow is choked off and the box warms up. He installed a new defrost timer, cleared the ice from the coil by hand with a water hose and hot water, and returned the unit to service.
