Repiped and Recharged a Rooftop Chiller at a Waco Dessert Shop 09.09.26

A Waco dessert shop had been told its rooftop Chill King chiller needed to be replaced after several earlier repair attempts by other technicians. Clay found failed brazed joints and poor piping on the refrigerant lines. He repiped the suction and liquid lines with new copper, replaced the liquid line filter drier, evacuated the system to EPA standards, and recharged it with 14 lbs of virgin R-410A. He then verified proper operation, and the existing chiller went back into service instead of being replaced. When the core components are still sound, correcting poor piping can cost far less than replacing the unit. For commercial chiller repair, call 254-272-2714.
