A Waco restaurant called in October 2026 with a walk-in cooler that had its fans running but was not cooling. Clay traced the problem to the condensing unit, where the R-22 compressor had failed with a locked rotor. That compressor type is obsolete and no longer available. The evaporator had also degraded to the point that liquid refrigerant was reaching the compressor and causing internal damage. He quoted a new scroll compressor alone and full equipment replacement, noting that keeping the old evaporator risks damaging a new compressor.
