Found an Undersized Condenser and Evaporator Leaks on a Waco Restaurant Walk-In Cooler 07.09.26
Clay · July 9, 2026 · Near Interstate 35 North Frontage Road, Waco TX 76705

A Waco restaurant reported its walk-in cooler temping high, and Clay found the box at temperature on arrival with the evaporator fans and rooftop condensing unit both running. The condensing unit cover had blown off and the sight glass was flashing, so he added 2 lbs of R-404A and leak-checked the system. He traced leaks at the evaporator and at both access cores, found a missing brass core cap, and measured very high head pressure. Nameplate ratings showed a 10,800 BTU condenser serving a 17,000 BTU evaporator. He also noted a seized condenser fan on the main rooftop unit.
