Diagnosed a Failing Chiller at a Robinson Convenience Store

A Robinson, TX convenience store called Texian Cold when its Chill King commercial chiller went offline and stopped holding temperature. On arrival, lead technician Clay found the unit dead at a loose electrical contactor. He secured and adjusted the contactor, restarted the chiller, dialed in the thermostatic expansion valve, and added refrigerant to bring the system back to temperature the same day. During the repair Clay also documented heavy corrosion — the cabinet is rusted through and the heat exchanger is leaking refrigerant and nearing failure — so he recommended planning a replacement before the unit quits for good.
