Cleared a Plugged Capillary Tube on a R290 Prep Station at a Waco Kitchen
Clay · July 8, 2026 · 13701 Woodway Dr, Woodway, TX 76712, USA

A commercial R290 prep station at a Waco-area kitchen would not pull down to temperature, putting the product on the line at risk. Clay checked the sealed system and found two problems working together: a condenser coil packed with grease and dust that was choking heat rejection, and a partially plugged capillary tube starving the evaporator. He cleaned the condenser, then gauged and cleared the restriction at the metering device and verified the R290 charge to factory weight, restoring temperature the same day. A plugged capillary tube is a common failure on hydrocarbon prep units and is easy to misread as a low charge. For same-day commercial refrigeration service, call 254-272-2714.
