Why Fan Speed Is Not a Detail
Evaporator fan speed is not a comfort setting. It is part of the design math of the box. The coil, the fan, and the refrigerant charge are matched so the coil surface stays above the point where it frosts uncontrollably. Drop the airflow and the balance breaks — the coil overshoots cold, ice accumulates between defrost cycles, and the defrost cycle that was sized for normal frost cannot keep up.
