Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC Technician Jobs — Dallas to Waco

Texian Cold is a commercial-only refrigeration and HVAC shop working the I‑35 corridor from Dallas down to Waco. Restaurants, convenience stores, ice plants, breweries, medical facilities, food retail. Walk-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, glycol chillers, rooftop units, hot-side kitchen equipment — the whole spectrum, not one narrow slice of it.

Texas TACLA89963C. R290 certified. Factory authorized for Norlake and Master-Bilt, Authorized Norcold Agent and Dealer, Atosa Authorized Service Tech. We have been running Central Texas since 2019 and we are picky about who wears the name.

Now Hiring: Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC Technician

Full-time · $32–45 per hour depending on experience · Based anywhere along the I‑35 corridor between Dallas and Waco

What the work looks like

  • Diagnostic and repair calls on walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, prep tables, and merchandisers
  • Commercial ice machines — Manitowoc, Scotsman, Hoshizaki, Ice-O-Matic and others
  • Rooftop units, make-up air, and commercial HVAC repair and replacement
  • Glycol chillers, beer systems, and specialty cold storage
  • New installs, line sets, startup and commissioning
  • Preventative maintenance routes and remote monitoring callouts

What we are looking for

  • EPA 608 Universal certification
  • We prefer five or more years in commercial refrigeration — this is not a residential HVAC role
  • Comfortable running a call start to finish without somebody looking over your shoulder
  • Valid Texas driver license and a clean driving record
  • Your own hand tools; we supply specialty equipment

What comes with it

  • $32–45 per hour depending on what you bring
  • Take-home service truck with a fuel card
  • W‑2 employment

What the Job Actually Looks Like

If you have been running commercial refrigeration for a while, you have a good idea what you want out of the next place and what you would rather not deal with again. Here is what this one is, so you can decide whether it lines up.

  • A defined corridor. I‑35, Dallas down to Waco. Some days are a long drive.
  • A small shop. You will know the person making the parts and pricing calls, because there are not many of us.
  • Mixed equipment. Walk-ins, ice machines, chillers, rooftops, hot side. You will not be on one type of unit all week.
  • Commercial only. No residential change-outs, no attic work.
  • Repeat customers. Most of our work is accounts we have had for years, so you will see the same equipment and the same people more than once.

Worth a look before you decide: the equipment we work on and the territory we cover.

Apply

Fill out the form below and it comes straight to us. No account to create, no portal, no resume required — tell us what you have worked on and we will take it from there.

If you are currently employed, we keep it that way. We do not contact a current employer at any point without your say-so.

    What Happens Next

Every application gets read by a person. If it looks like a fit you will hear back within a couple of days, usually by phone. The first conversation is short and it is mostly about equipment — what you have run, what you would rather not, and how you like to work.

If the timing is not right on either side, we keep good applications on file and we do reach back out. Experienced commercial refrigeration techs are hard to find in Central Texas, and we would rather know who you are before we need you.
