Diagnosed Gearbox Failures on Two Ice Machines in Lacy Lakeview TX

A Lacy Lakeview, TX restaurant reported metal particles turning up in the ice from both of its Scotsman nugget machines. Clay found both units powered on. The right machine had failed auger bearings and an audible gear whine, and was shedding metal shavings into the ice it produced. The left machine was locked up in the gearbox and also carrying metal in the pellets, traced to a failed evaporator. No repairs were made on this visit.
