Diagnosed Rooftop Units With Bypassed Safeties at a Waco Restaurant
Clay · August 4, 2026 · Near North Valley Mills Drive, Waco TX 76710

A Waco restaurant requested a diagnostic on two packaged rooftop units after ongoing cooling complaints and repeated shutdowns. Clay found a grounded stage 2 compressor on the AAON unit and a grounded compressor on the Trane, both already disconnected. Three of four relays had been bypassed, transformers were wired directly together, safeties were cut loose, and a blower motor was seized. He also documented heat exchanger corrosion, dirty coils, and a vortex blower wheel needing cleaning. No repairs were made on this visit and a full estimate is being prepared.
