Replaced a Blown Valve Core and Recharged a Chiller in Lorena
Clay · July 7, 2026 · 11710 Chapel Rd, Lorena, TX 76655, USA

A commercial process chiller at a Lorena, TX industrial facility stopped cooling after its condenser coils were cleaned, so Clay returned to trace the loss. He found that a liquid-line access valve core had blown through and vented the entire refrigerant charge. Clay replaced the failed core plus three additional cores to prevent a repeat failure, then recharged the system with R410A and confirmed operation. He also measured a 40 psi differential across the condenser coil inlet and outlet, a sign of internal restriction that surface cleaning cannot fix, and recommended coil replacement with a quote to follow.
