Diagnosed a Leaking Evaporator Coil on a Walk-In Cooler at a Waco Florist 05.20.26
Clay · May 20, 2026 · Near South 25th Street, Waco TX 76710

A florist in Waco, TX called in with a walk-in cooler running warm and a tripped breaker on the refrigeration circuit. On site, Clay traced low refrigerant pressures to a leaking evaporator coil that had pulled the charge down far enough for the head pressure control to start bypassing hot gas to prop up system pressure. To protect product short-term, we added a measured refrigerant charge that brought the box back to temperature, and recommended a full evaporator coil replacement as the lasting fix.
